Answer:

Flax has been determined to be kitniyot, although this makes no sense at all since flax is not even a food.  Another illogical and arbitrary Jewish rule.  If you want to have fun, as your Rabbis why we can eat cotton seeds but not flax seeds. None will answer this question, at least not coherently.
